INTRODUCING SPECIALISED STRUCTURES PART HABITABLE STANDARD BUILDING RANGE

DESIGNED FOR THE UNIQUE NEEDS OF KIWI’S

Whether you’re looking for a shed space with attached studio, a 1 or 2 bedroom apartment, storage loft, designs featuring a mezzanine floor, and max height shed space, we’ve got you covered. Contact us and we’ll see if we have a design that suits your needs, and if not all our designs can be customised if required.

Our standard plan range has been designed with clear spans and bay widths to accommodate motorhomes, caravans, fishing boats, jet boats, buses, or any other vehicles, classic cars and toys you need kept safe.

DESIGNED FOR EFFICIENCY

Our team have selected the most efficient spans and bay widths considering the impact on structural member sizes to ensure build and cost efficiency.

We are skilled and experienced habitable shed designers and builders, who lead the way in our industry. Our experts understand the additional components like insulation, ventilation, thermal breaks and structural strengthening for internal linings that are required when a shed is to be lived in. We have the system. We have the expertise and experience.

FAQs for Habitable Structures

Using our portal frame structure for your habitable build allows for higher stud heights and open spaces efficiently, and when you’re requiring large garaging, workshop shed space attached to a habitable space to live or stay, this is where Specialised Structures come into their own.
Yes, at Specialised Structures, we design and build habitable sheds that meet all relevant NZBC regulations.
We offer a standard range of part habitable designs to suit a range of needs, these have been designed to simplify the process and ensure a cost effective efficient option for our clients, or a place to start, with customisation always possible.
We use high-quality, durable materials. Cold rolled NZ Steel forms our structure and predominantly NZ Steel profiles for wall claddings and roofing, although as you can see by our photo gallery we’re able to incorporate any different cladding types available in the New Zealand market, and the same goes for internal linings and fitout.
Construction times can vary depending on the size and complexity of your design. However, due to the streamlined processes and prefabricated elements, habitable sheds generally take less time to complete than traditional builds.
The cost depends on several factors, including size, chosen materials, and desired features. We recommend contacting us for a free consultation and personalised quote
