Specialised Structures Wairarapa is based in Masterton, and is owned and operated by John Hymers, of D R Borman Ltd, a successful construction company and winner of multiple awards.

John has 30 plus years’ experience in both residential and commercial construction and holds qualifications in carpentry and quantity surveying, he’s your ultimate project manager.
We bought into the Specialised Structures brand and system to add another dimension to our building portfolio and to be able to provide further solutions for our clients. We’ve overseen many light and heavy commercial builds and are experts in million dollar residential builds. We pride ourselves on a strong attention to detail, combined with skills in quantity surveying and years of experience in project management are just some of the reasons to build with us.
We pride ourselves on a strong community focus with a place on the Chanel College Board of Trustees and Masterton Rotary and memberships in the Red Star Squash Club and Wairarapa Squash Collective.
We’re also members of the New Zealand Master Builders Association and The Building Hub.
